Cake in the Box was founded in March 2009 by a mother of two with life threatening allergies to nuts. After taking a family trip to Helen, GA, her children asked for a caramel apple. Trenise Grill watched as the lady rolled several apples with pecans and then wiped across the table and started rolling the regular caramel apples. Trenise was horrified and then decided that she wanted to create a safe place for people with nut allergies to have cakes. Cake in the Box was founded to give people a safe bakery to have their great desserts. Some bakeries will offer peanut free products but can not offer the safety of a peanut free bakery. Cake in the box does not allow even coffees with nut creamers in them.
Cake in the Box is the first cake bakery in Metro Atlanta to offer not only nut-free cakes but allergy free cakes as well. We take great pains to eliminate the chance cross-contamination.
